Do not accept chat invitations until you have verified that the person attempting to contact you is a registered ChatFinder Member. Use the screenname search field on the Member Zone for a quick check. Beware of persons who claim to have obtained your name on ChatFinder but are not registered.
Do not assume that the identity of any person registered on ChatFinder is accurate. You must verify the accuracy of any information at your own expense. Our detailed records are available only to law enforcement officials.
Use your full name or surname in your screenname at your own risk! You may be locatable in phone and other directories.
Use the "BLOCK" feature of your instant messaging software (iChat AV, AIM, MSN Mesenger, etc.) to eliminate unwanted chat requests.
Use the "INVISIBLE" feature in the Privacy Filter section of your Privacy Settings to make your account information unavailable to all.
No one from ChatFinder will request any password, credit card, or personal information from you in a chat or email. DO NOT RESPOND!. Advise us of any such attempts at <support@chatfinder.com>. Provide the screenname of the person contacting you with the date and time of the contact.
Illegal activity should be reported to law enforcement officials.
Meeting anyone in person who was introduced to you on the internet, at this site or any other, may involve substantial personal safety risk to you. We recommend, among other precautions, that you bring a friend and restrict meetings to public places until you're comfortable with the identity and behavior of the individual. Be certain that others not with you know the verified identity of the person you are meeting.
